privacy
Almost nothing to disclose
This site collects very little, and this page says exactly what happens to the little it does.
What this site does not do
No analytics, no tracking pixels, no ads, and no cookies set by me. I do not sell, rent, or share anything you send here. Reading this site leaves no trail I look at.
The contact form
The form on the contact page asks for your name, email, subject, and message. Submissions reach my inbox through EmailJS, a third-party email relay, and I use them only to reply to you.
The email list
Subscribing stores your email address with Buttondown, the service that delivers the essays. Every email includes an unsubscribe link that works on the first click, and leaving removes your address from the list.
Hosting
vinny.dev is static files served from AWS S3 and CloudFront; there is no server-side code and no database. AWS infrastructure can record standard access logs (IP address, requested URL, user agent), which are used only to operate the site.
External links
Essays link out to other sites, and the book page uses Amazon affiliate links. Once you leave, those sites follow their own privacy practices.
Questions
Email vin@vinny.dev and I will give you a straight answer.
